Melody Redbird-Post has an extensive work experience in the field of child care and tribal administration. Melody currently serves as the Project Director at Miami Nation Enterprises, Inc., where they oversee and administers the Tribal Child Care Capacity Building Center. Prior to this, Melody worked as a Project Director at ICF from 2016 to 2021. They also held the position of Child Care Director at the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma from 2012 to 2016. Melody gained valuable experience as a Fellow at the Peer Learning and Leadership Network, where they worked and learned with other Tribal CCDF administrators and staff. Additionally, they served as the Health Coordinator at Kiowa Tribe Head Start from 2009 to 2012 and as the Family Services Manager at Caddo Nation Child Development Program from 2007 to 2009.
Melody has a comprehensive education background, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum from the University of Oklahoma, which they pursued between 2014 and 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from the same institution from 2010 to 2014. In 2008 to 2009, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Administrative Leadership at the University of Oklahoma as well. Melody also attended Yale University between 1999 and 2002, where they focused on Ethics, Politics, & Economics.
Apart from their formal education, Melody has also obtained additional certifications such as the “Become a Government Project Manager” program offered by LinkedIn in 2021 and a certification in “Preventing Workplace Harassment” from Emtrain.
