Foundation Highlights and Updates

New Website Launched!

We’re excited to share with you the launch of the foundation’s website!

The site was developed in response to the foundation’s interest in providing grantees with the opportunity to expand their reach, sharing their successes and lessons learned with the world and possibly connecting with other interested parties. Much of the work the foundation supports is exploratory and complex — seeking new and creative models to solve systemic problems. Many of our grantees are in remote locations and under resourced. Ultimately, our goal for the site is to provide a resource — identifying with the global ECD community and creating a repository for learning and collaboration within and among community to improve development opportunities for young children. We hope this platform will encourage the organizations we support to further their work and inspire other funders to support it.

We’re particularly excited about the From the Field section. This section presents great opportunity to foster learning and inquiry and to support cross-collaboration. It’s designed to share both technical and personal stories about the work Better Way supports — lessons learned, challenges, successes, etc. Additionally, it will serve as a library of resources we want to share with others. You’ll see it contains stories from both our grantees as well as staff. This repository will grow and we encourage our partners to suggest ideas and written pieces from the field. Foundation representatives will also post from time-to-time and connect with grantees and experts to solicit pieces.

We encourage you to check our site often, as we expect to post new content monthly. Soon we’ll post an update on the ECD Forum taking place next week in Tanzania, and share updates from visits with our grantees in the field. Additionally, we’re launching an evaluation of our Domestic program and will be able to share lessons from that work later this year.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our partners’ work and the exciting movement taking place in community-based ECD. We’re after a dynamic interaction with our grantees, other partners, and the ECD field in general. We’re excited to see how our web presence will evolve and add value to our grantees’ efforts!
